If someone were to ask me to describe myself, I would first say that I’m a bibliophile (after librarian, of course). It’s most likely that you are too, if you’re reading this blog. That’s probably what brought you here in the first place, am I right?
However, when I say this to someone, I’m often met with this question…
“What’s a bibliophile?”
I guess I can’t expect everyone to know this term. I don’t think it’s sad. I’m sure there are plenty of words that I still don’t know and would need someone to define for me.
So what is a bibliophile?
noun
1. a lover of books especially for qualities of format
also : a book collector
That’s me in a nutshell.
In recent times I have been trying to be more mindful about my shelf space and buy books on my Nook but, that hasn’t been going to well. I just love the look and feel of books too much to really keep my entire library on a small device. Though I will admit, it makes it easier to travel for vacations and such.
But let’s face it. Nothing will ever replace the feel of holding an actual book in your hands, and that my friends, is why I will never stop buying books.
