Favorite Book Quotes

I love finding new quotes in books that I can relate to or use in my life.  Let’s face it, some fiction books can offer us solid advice!  It makes you wonder if the authors follow that advice as well (probably not, lol).  One day I’d like to take my favorite quotes and just put them all over my walls, but since I will most likely not be staying at the apartment I’m in, I’ll have to wait on that for now.

So today I’d like to share some of my favorite quotes from books I’ve read.  I probably won’t share all of them in one shot – especially because I’m always finding new ones – so this will more than likely end up as a type of series post that I’ll do once in a while.

Favorite Book Quotes

“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.” – J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

“Reading is the creative center of a writer’s life.” – Stephen King, On Writing: a Memoir of the Craft

“It’s like when you’re learning to ride a bike. You’re going to fall and you might get hurt, but you get back up on the bike and try again. And even when you get the hang of it there’s still going to be bumps in the road, but you just keep riding.” – Tabitha G. Kelly, Standing By

“We do not remember days, we remember moments.” – Jennifer Niven, All the Bright Places

“No one knows for certain how much impact they have on the lives of other people. Oftentimes, we have no clue. Yet we push it just the same.” – Jay Asher, Thirteen Reasons Why

“As writers we have the profound privilege and responsibility to create a new world when the current one takes a turn for the worse.” – Chris Colfer, Worlds Collide

“The first cut is always the deepest, but not every cut leaves a scar.” – Chris Colfer, A Grimm Warning

“I sometimes look at my bookshelf now and think about how someday I’m going to die without ever reading a lot of the books there. And one might be life-changingly good and I’ll never know.” – Jeff Zentner, Goodbye Days

“Turns out there’s a reason they call it falling in love, because when it happens – really happens – that’s exactly how it feels. There’s no doing or trying, you just let go and hope that someone’s going to be there to catch you.” – Jenna Evans Welch, Love and Gelato

“Boys turns girls into such idiots.” – Stephanie Perkins, Anna and the French Kiss

“I know you aren’t perfect. But it’s a person’s imperfections that make them perfect for someone else.” – Stephanie Perkins, Lola and the Boy Next Door

“I lie to myself all the time. But I never believe me.” – S.E. Hinton, The Outsiders

“When in doubt, go to the library.” – J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Okay, that’s probably enough for now.  I’ll definitely be writing up another post as I read more books and search my favorites for my favorite quotes.  This can definitely end up as a series-type of post in the future.
