Music and books… two things that go so well together. That’s why I’m psyched that I found this tag on Fantastic Books and Where to Find Them! Go show some love if you aren’t already following Jemma!
Sometimes I’m able to read while listening to music, but most times I just have an old favorite show in the background. However, when I’m writing, I love listening to music and letting my characters pick out their favorite songs for their moods. It kind of gives them another level and makes them feel more realistic.
Anyway, I’m going off track here. Let’s get on with this book tag!
Hit Rewind: a book you go back to again and again?
Aside from Harry Potter, I love rereading Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen
Romantic Ballads: a book that gives you all those fluttery feels?
Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
Release Radar: a new release book you are excited for?
One of Us is Next by Karen M. McManus
Discover Weekly: a book you haven’t read yet but want to discover?
Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian (I’m only holding off because I know there’s a third book coming in February.)
Alone Again: your fave book genre to read on your own?
YA Romance because of all the gooey feelings. But I also always read alone so…
The only books I’ve read with a buddy were the Harry Potter books as they were released – my friend and I would sit in the pizza place our moms worked at and read alllll day – and last year I read Emergency Contact with one of my best friends.
Alternative: an indie book or author everyone should read!
I’ll give an indie book and an indie author!
Indie book: Standing By – Tabitha G. Kelly – it was adorable and I loved it!
Indie Author: Adam D. Sipperly because I enjoyed his first book and I know he has another coming out next month.
Cheesy Hits: a book full of cheese that you just love?
Off the Page by Jodi Picoult was pretty cheesy if I remember correctly. I might need to reread it.
Also Anne of Green Gables. That was an adorably cheesy book!
Summer Hits: a book you re-read every summer?
Probably at least one (or all) of the Harry Potter books
Power Hour: an empowering feminist book or character you adore?
Hermione Granger… because seriously. Without her Harry and Ron would be dead.
