A-Z Bookish Survey

I was searching through some blogs and came across this little bookish survey that seemed fun to fill out.  I’m kind of behind with reading and reviews right now because I’ve been reading a lot slower than usual, mainly because one of the books I’m reading is short stories, so I don’t like to read too many at once.

I’ve also just been in a mood to watch some old favorite shows and I’ve kinda gotten back into reading fanfiction.  Whoops.

In any case, while I catch up on blog posts and reviews, here’s the A-Z Bookish Survey for you all to enjoy in the meantime!

A-Z Bookish Survey

AUTHOR YOU’VE READ THE MOST BOOKS FROM:

Kate Brian.  The reason being that I read her 14-book series – the Private novels – and then a few of her stand-alone books.

BEST SEQUEL EVER:

The Wicked King – Holly Black

CURRENTLY READING:

All the Bright Places

DRINK OF CHOICE WHILE READING:

Water or tea

E-READER OR PHYSICAL BOOK?

I prefer physical books always, but I do have a Barnes & Nobel NOOK Glowlight Plus that I sometimes read on.

FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU PROBABLY WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY DATED IN HIGH SCHOOL:

Cricket from Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins.  His personality is so adorable and he kinda into dorky things, and I usually tend to like guys who nerd out over dorky things.

GLAD YOU GAVE THIS BOOK A CHANCE:

Afterimage – Naomi Hughes

HIDDEN GEM BOOK:

The Eye of Minds by James Dashner.  Seriously, this book (and the two that follow) do not get enough credit.  I get frustrated that there’s hardly anyone I can fangirl over these books with!

IMPORTANT MOMENT IN YOUR READING LIFE:

Discovering Goodreads.  I only wish I’d had something like this when I started reading back in elementary school so I could have a full record of every book I’ve ever read… ever.

JUST FINISHED:

Hope in the Mail

KINDS OF BOOKS YOU WON’T READ:

I will never read are erotica or horror, and I’m picky about science-fiction and fantasy books.

LONGEST BOOK YOU’VE READ:

I’d say that’d have to be the longest Harry Potter book, which is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at 870 pages (or along those lines).

MAJOR BOOK HANGOVER BECAUSE OF:

The Mortality Doctrine series by James Dashner.  I read all three books one after another and was just distraught after finishing them because of the fact that it’s over, and that there’s no fanfiction or any hype to the books.  I could really use a movie for this one guys.

NUMBER OF BOOKCASES YOU OWN:

Three.

ONE BOOK YOU HAVE READ MULTIPLE TIMES:

Lola and the Boy Next Door (besides Harry Potter)

PREFERRED PLACE TO READ:

Any place with excellent lighting and a comfortable seat.  But I usually read on my bed or while walking on the treadmill.

QUOTE THAT INSPIRES YOU/GIVES YOU ALL THE FEELS FROM A BOOK YOU’VE READ:

“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” – Albus Dumbledore

Literally, the story of my life.

READING REGRET:

Not having a record of all the books I’ve read.

SERIES YOU STARTED AND NEED TO FINISH (ALL BOOKS ARE OUT IN SERIES):

I’m actually not in the middle of any series at this time…

THREE OF YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE BOOKS:

Okay, I won’t include the Harry Potter books (this time)

1.) Love & Gelato

2.) Time Bomb

3.) Lola and the Boy Next Door

UNAPOLOGETIC FANGIRL FOR:

Harry Potter, The Mortality Doctrine trilogy, Emergency Contact

VERY EXCITED FOR THIS RELEASE MORE THAN ALL THE OTHERS:

Love & Olives – Jenna Evans Welch

WORST BOOKISH HABIT:

Taking out way more library books than I can actually read before the due date.

X MARKS THE SPOT: START AT THE TOP LEFT OF YOUR SHELF AND PICK THE 27TH BOOK:

The Art of French Kissing – Brianna K. Shrum

YOUR LATEST BOOK PURCHASE:
  • One of Us is Next – Karen M. McManus
  • The Little Bookshop on the Seine – Rebecca Raisin
  • The Longest New York Minute – Tracy Popolizio
  • The Heart Between Us – Lindsay Harrel
ZZZ-SNATCHER BOOK (LAST BOOK THAT KEPT YOU UP WAY LATE):

Catching Christmas – Terry Blackstock

As always, I enjoyed doing this book survey and if anyone else does this, I’d love to read them!
