I’m one of those people who loves rereading books. After all, it’s not like books are meant to be read once, and when you really love a book, why wouldn’t you want to revisit it at some point in your life? I like to revisit Harry Potter every now and then because it brings a little childhood comfort and it can usually bring me out of a reading slump.
It’s pretty normal for a four or five star read to get a reread from most bookworms. After all, that means we loved the book and it’s worth rereading. However, there have been times when I’ve found myself wanting to reread a book that I didn’t quite love, but didn’t hate either – typically the three star reads. Basically giving the book a second chance because there was probably something about the story I did love, which made me want to reread it. Sometimes I’ll even end up giving the book four stars after a second go-around.
Book’s I’d like to Reread in 2021
So, while I shared some books that are on my TBR that I’d like to get to in 2021, these are some books I’d like to reread in 2021 if I find myself in the mood for them (or wanting to give them an accurate, current review because I read them before this blog was born).
The Eye of Minds – James Dashner
The Rule of Thoughts – James Dashner
The Game of Lives – James Dashner
Famous Last Words – Jennifer Salvato Dotorski
Called to Serve – Stefan Gulyas
One of Us is Lying – Karen M. McManus
This is Where it Ends – Marieke Nijkamp
Between the Lines – Jodi Picoult & Samantha Van Leer
Off the Page – Jodi Picoult & Samantha Van Leer
Attachments – Rainbow Rowell
Field Notes on Love – Jennifer E. Smith
Eliza and Her Monsters – Francesca Zappia

Of course, whether or not I actually get around to rereading these books remains to be seen, but there are the ones I’ve been wanting to revisit for at least the past year as I see them on my shelves. What I like about rereading books is that I find stuff that I missed in my first reading of it, which is true for most people.
What are some books you might want to reread next year?

Your reasons for re-reading are the exact same as mine. I love re-reading books, especially those that were not great in the past but then turn out to be new favourites. At the moment I don’t have a set list of books I want to re-read in 2021, but I am thinking of picking up the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy again, as well as the first two Lord of the Rings books. I read the latter two for the first time fairly recently on audiobook but I feel that I need to read them again in physical format before picking up the final book.

Nice! That’s so awesome that you re-read books, too 🙂 I’d like to re-read The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty, because it was so well-written, and because I want to know why I didn’t see the twist coming! 😅 I totally should have known!
