Least Favorite Film Adaptations

Not too long ago I shared my top five favorite film adaptations, but today I’m going to share my least favorite film adaptations. I thought of it while putting together the other post because some of the films I thought of I had to stop and say, “Nope, I didn’t like that one,” and then realized that would make a good post.

There probably aren’t too many adaptations that I didn’t enjoy, but anyway, these are the ones I picked out for this post.

The Circle

To be fair, I didn’t like the book either. While I love Emma Watson and Tom Hanks, I just wasn’t feeling this movie. It was hard to get through it honestly (again, just like the book).

Paper Towns

I thought the book was okay. I’m not a John Green fan, honestly, but I didn’t hate the book. The movie though… I didn’t even finish it. I couldn’t.

Twilight

Those movies are a big no-no. I read the books, and while I wouldn’t read them again because I’m over the vampire stuff… the movies just killed any chance of me ever wanting to read the books again. That’s how much I dislike them. Honestly, I don’t think I bothered watching any more after the second one.

However, the Honest Trailer for this movie is hilarious (except for saying that Stephanie Meyer is a shitty author. I disagree with that)

Chemical HEarts

Now this one I really thought I’d love. I mean, I loved the book and I like Lili Reinheart. While I didn’t hate the movie, I didn’t think it lived up to its potential.

The Cat in the Hat

What even was this movie? I remember seeing it a few times when it was showing on TV because nothing else was on, but they really did a horrible job with this movie. I think they were trying to make it funny, but it wasn’t. It was lowkey messed up, if you ask me.

What are some of your least favorite book-to-movie adaptations?
