April 2021 Wrap Up

April was very similar to March in that I didn’t get much reading done, especially in the second half of the month. In fact, I think I went two straight weeks without reading a book. I was still reading though… only it was fanfiction. I somehow went from reading Descendants fanfiction to Glee. The Gleek in me woke up and has since swallowed me whole. I’m rewatching the series, watching fan-made videos on YouTube, and reading fanfiction like my life depends on it. I’m not proud, but that’s how I am right now.

And thanks to this Gleeking out, I’m more overwhelmed now by the loss of Naya Rivera than I was in July. Maybe because seeing her absolutely slaying it (and I never use that term) as Santana on Glee made it hit harder. She (as well as Cory Monteith) was an amazing talent and I honestly think her character deserved a spin-off series. I feel so bad for her family and costars.

So, yeah… I’m deep into the Glee fandom trap and I’m probably not coming up for air anytime soon. But I am going to discipline myself to get some reading done because I do honestly miss the book community. That, and my TBR has been silently judging me for the past two months. Oops.
