The end of the year really snuck up on us, didn't it? I feel like I still have so many other posts that I want to do, but haven't been able to get to yet, including a couple of book reviews. Looks like the first week of January will be filled with a ton of … Continue reading 2022 Bookish Goals and Reading Tracker

My 2021 DNF List

December 30, 20212 Comments

I'm very glad that I started living by the mantra, "life's too short to read books you aren't enjoying" and no longer push through a book I'm just not interested in. It's saved me a lot of turmoil this year, and in the past couple of years, really. Thankfully, this year there were only three … Continue reading My 2021 DNF List

Most of these are on my NetGalley shelf, or are ones I found there but didn't request, and the rest I … Continue reading Anticipated 2022 Releases

Christmassy Book Recommendations

December 22, 2021December 21, 2021Leave a comment

I'm very late posting this, mainly because I wasn't going to, but I decided to revamp my old Holiday Recommendations list with some new additions. This is the perfect time of year to cozy up with a holiday book (or ten) and just read while under fuzzy blankets and drinking hot beverages. Or, if you … Continue reading Christmassy Book Recommendations

Tyler looks like he's got a great life from the outside. He lives in a nice house, his dad is a doctor, and with his grades he's planning on following his dad's footsteps. What does an ancient Jewish prophet have to do with modern America? What, if anything, can we learn from a man who lived 2,400 years ago as a captive in the land we now call Iraq? As it turns out, quite a bit.David and Jason Benham are convinced the biblical example of Daniel holds the … Continue reading Review: Living Among Lions

Five fantastic stars AGAIN for this novel. I loved it years ago when it came out and feel the same after rereading.
QOTD: do you find yourself to be more of a morning, afternoon, or night reader?
Welp, this is a DNF. There’s just no depth to the story at all. I normally don’t read Patterson on principle, but I figured, “hey the person who ACTUALLY wrote it deserves a chance.” Unfortunately, this just didn’t hold my attention.
Seriously wishing I could just get paid to read books 😪
It’s the weekend. Read books. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Name a book that you knew was going to make you sad, but you read it anyway 🥲
