“The best way to cheer yourself up is to cheer somebody else up.”
― Albert Einstein
Some people might not believe this quote, and I can see how. A lot of times we can be self-centered, so we wouldn’t think that cheering someone else up would make us happy. Or maybe your first thought is, if we’re not happy, how can we possibly cheer someone else up?
The thing is, smiles are contagious. And so is kindness. Even if I’m in a bad mood, seeing someone else happy can make my day better. So how much better would it be if I was able to cheer someone up despite my bad mood? In fact, that’s probably the only real sure to bad moods – making someone else smile.
I don’t know about you, but the next time I’m feeling down, I’m going to try to cheer someone else up because we could use more of that in today’s world.
