April 2022 Wrap Up

April was a bad month for reading. I started off well enough, but I finally hit that dreaded reading slump. I went through a few books where I didn’t get past the first chapter before putting the book down. I didn’t even bother to count those as DNF books because I knew my heart wasn’t even in the mindset of reading. Instead, I’ve just been hooked on Netflix and Disney+, as well as preferring to read fanfiction over books.

I think I might be coming out of this funk, but not fully. I’d still rather watch a TV show I’ve seen a million times or get lost in the YouTube vortex for the most part. However, I’m getting that nagging feeling of wanting to read something when I see my pile of unread books. Maybe I just need to reread a favorite to get myself back into it.

In any case, April wasn’t a total bust for reading. I just did most of my reading in the first two weeks and then dropped off the reading grid (and bookstagram/book twitter) for the rest of the month. If I’m being real honest, I think I’m going through some weird anxiety/possibly depression thing. I’ve never really gone through something like this before, other than weird funks right before my period, but this has been going on for a while now.

I never really gave this show chance when it first came out. I watched a few episodes here and there, but I just never got into it… until now. It took precedence over reading, and it’s the fanfiction right now that has me even more hooked. This show is so cute, with its share of drama/emotional episodes. Now that I’ve gotten into it, I’m upset with myself for not watching it when it was on the air and petitioning for it to keep going. I think it could’ve gone a full seven seasons like Boy Meets World did. It would have been interesting to follow these characters for that amount of time.

Aside from Girl Meets World, I got sucked into the YouTube vortex of random videos. Just watching whatever I find interesting, as well as rewatching videos (mainly music videos) that I love. I never realized how much time they suck up… but I also can’t stop watching.

That’s all for my April Wrap Up. I know, not much, but what are you gonna do? Reading slumps are the worst. I’m just lowkey pissed because it figures that it happened when I had a TBR planned out for the month. Isn’t that how it always goes?

What did your April look like?

Thanks, I think I’m starting to come out of this fog… or I’m at least trying to push out of it now because I can’t keep up like this. I hate being unproductive and not feeling like myself. I’ll have to take your example and blog hop a bit for some inspiration. Hope you’re doing better as well!💛
