3 Years of Genie in a Novel

Three years ago today I made my first post on this blog – Bibliophile Defined. It was a post I’d done on an earlier blog, but decided to take it and use it as my introductory post here. While Genie in a Novel is only three years old, I have had multiple blogs over the course of 12 years. My earlier ones were more regular lifestyle posts, or my attempt of niche blogging as a reviewer of books/movies/tv, as well as a short-lived photography blog.

Soon enough my long-standing lifestyle blog, orangeowldiaries, became more focused on books and my life as a librarian. However, because of my sentimental attachment to the name, I did not delete the blog, so it’s still there for viewing if anyone comes across it. But seeing as my favorite colors shifted from orange to purple and green, and my blog didn’t have a bookish name, I started a search for names that weren’t taken and were also a bookish pun. Genie in a Novel came up by chance, and thankfully, no one had claimed that, so I grabbed it while I could.

And here we are!

So, to commemorate my blog’s three year anniversary, I want to share some of my personal favorite posts about the bookish life, as well as some of my favorite reviews I’ve shared (or favorite books that I’ve reviewed).

I could probably keep on listing posts that I enjoyed writing as well as past favorite books I’ve reviewed, but then I’d just be listing my entire blog! Luckily, I do have a convenient Book Review Index page where I list all my book reviews at, and as far as favorite past posts… well, I don’t have a list for that yet. Maybe I’ll make one in the future.

I’m very happy to have started this blog three years ago, and my only regret is that I didn’t start it sooner! I’ve made some great friends and connections through blogging and my bookstagram/booktwitter accounts, and I’m happy to continue sharing the book-web with y’all!
