What I Have Out From the Library (June 2022)

I don’t know why, but I thought it would be fun to share the books I have checked out currently from the library (or as I call it, work). If you’re not a librarian and think that if you were one, you’d check out books consistently… then you’re absolutely right. I’m constantly bringing new books home to read and I even have a dedicated shelf for my library books.

The real perk of being a librarian is getting new books right when they come out, before anyone else touches them (as long as they’re not on hold, of course). I’m always looking at the newest books that come in as they’re being processed to see if there’s anything good on there. Not to mention I’m always seeing interesting books that have been in our collection for ages, but I’m only just noticing them because they went out recently. Needless to say, my TBR list is always growing. The other problem is that I always have anywhere from 3-20 books out at a time.

So, let’s see what I currently have out.

Books I Have Out From the Library

My current read. I’ve been putting this one off because I was wary of it, but I think I’m finally in the mood for a deep-cutting, possibly emotional YA novel. I’ve heard this author is amazing, so I’m hoping to feel that way after reading this.

Probably the one I’ve had out the longest, but anytime I go to read it, I’m not in the mood for it. Luckily, we have a second copy of this, so it’s no big deal if I keep it out for a while. If it ends up on a Nutmeg or summer reading list, I’ll bring it back sooner. But for now, it’s temporarily my book, haha.

If you know any librarians personally, you know that we generally dislike James Patterson on principle. Only because he always has new books coming out. It’s a little excessive, but I did think this one was interesting, so I’m willing to give it a shot.

I found this one sitting on the YA return cart when I was shelving some books over there on a slow night. The title and cover were interesting, and the story sounds interesting as well. It’s probably not my usual type of book to read, but who knows? Maybe it’ll end up being a favorite.

This one is actually an Inter-Library Loan that I got recently. I actually forgot I even ordered it, so when our ILL Librarian brought it down to me, I was pleasantly surprised. Since it’s out from another library, I’m probably going to make this my next read.

And, that’s it. Not a lot that I have out at the moment. However, there are some I know that are coming in that I have my eyes on, as well as some on the shelves, but I’ve been trying to be good. Not only so that I don’t hold a ton of library books hostage for a while, but also because I have an overflowing cart of books I actually own that I need to read (and let’s not get into the ebook situation).

How often do you use your library? Do you limit the amount of books you take out?
