It’s officially summer now! Which ironically means that the days will slowly start getting shorter, but it means we’re on the way to my favorite season – fall/autumn! I feel like as a New Englander, it’s almost a requirement to love fall. Why? I’m not sure. I think it’s just the vibes of fall that people love… and I get it, that’s why I love it.
So the change of the seasons, and a recent prompt I’d seen other bloggers do, gave me the idea to share books that I feel fits each season. Since I don’t want to go overboard, I’m limiting this to four books per season, hence the 4 x 4 in the post title. I’m sure they’re all pretty obvious picks, but hey, there might be a few in this list that you haven’t heard of before. Maybe.
Probably not.
Four Books for Each Season
Summer
The Moon and More – Sarah Dessen
Lola and the Boy Next Door – Stephanie Perkins
Love & Gelato – Jenna Evans Welch
Stranger than Fanfiction – Chris Colfer

Fall
Private – Kate Brian
The Vanishing Girl – Josephine Ruby
A Study in Charlotte – Brittany Cavallaro
Two Can Keep a Secret – Karen M. McManus

Winter
If Only – Richard Paul Evans
Harry Potter – J.K. Rowling
(I just get winter vibes from this series, okay?)
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe – C.S. Lewis
The Mistletoe Inn – Richard Paul Evans

Spring
Love & Luck – Jenna Evans Welch
Someday, Somewhere – Lindsay Champion
Daughter of the Moon Goddess – Sue Lynn Tan
Between the Lines – Jodi Picoult & Samantha van Leer

Mind that these recommendations are based by a combo of their covers and the vibes I get from the book. Like, I understand Harry Potter takes place all year round, but I get winter vibes from it because, well, I just do. It makes me want to curl up under a blanket, have a hot cup of tea or hot chocolate, and just read with a fireplace going.
What books give you a vibe for a certain certain season? Have you read any books I’ve listed here?

Lord of the Rings (book and movie) always feel like winter to me!

Harry Potter has cozy vibes for me because our local TV station(s) usually do marathons of all the movies in the autumn/winter so I strongly associate it with that now haha. Plus I feel like I can visualize winter Hogwarts and Hogsmeade SO much better than summer. The charm of the ice and snow and frozen lake just stick in my head ^.^
Also for the record, I’ve only heard of 6 of these! So plenty of new recs for me 🙂
