I’ve seen a few other book bloggers do this type of post before, and I had never planned to do one as I normally just take books off my TBR without giving it a second thought. However, I actually think it’s kind of interesting to see what books people take off of their TBRs and why. So this time that I went through my TBR, I paid more attention to what I was taking off so I could do one of these posts.
Some people have shared how long the book has been on their list, but I have no idea when most of the books on my list have gone on there, so I can’t tell you how long they have been on my list. Now that I’m doing this, I wish I kept track.
Books I Recently Took off of my TBR List
This is Not a Drill by K.A. Holt – This middle grade novel follows a student who gets stuck in the bathroom when the school goes on lockdown, which is not a drill. However, I’m taking it off my list after looking through it at the bookstore recently, as the story is told in all text messages and I just don’t have the patience for that.
Confessions About Colton by Olivia Harvard – When Elliot’s best friend Colton turns up dead, it seems like it had been an accident until someone plants a note in Elliot’s pocket saying that they murdered Colton. Honestly, this book sounds like it’d be right up my alley, as I love YA murder mysteries, but I just don’t have the interest in this particular one anymore.
Book Lovers by Emily Henry – I mean, I tend to automatically put books about book lovers on my TBR, but there have been a few that I didn’t like, so I need to be more wary of doing that. This one sounds okay, but I don’t think it’ll be one that I’ll enjoy that much.

Ride With Me by Lucy Keating – I typically love books that force two people together, which is what happens to Charlie and Andre in this book, but I just can’t get myself to pick it up to read. I have read one of Keating’s novels before, and I liked it, so I’d be up to reading her books again. I just don’t think I’ll get around to this one.
The Book of Living Secrets by Madeline Roux – This one definitely sounds interesting by the inside cover synopsis, but when I was glancing through the first couple of chapters, I had the feeling it wasn’t going to be the type of book that I’d like. Better to just bring it back to the library and let someone else enjoy it than hold it hostage for a few weeks.
Thank You For Listening by Julia Whelan – This obviously wasn’t on my list for long, as the book was just released and I’d heard about it earlier this year. I saw it at the bookstore on my recent pre-surgery trip, and I couldn’t even get through the first chapter before I was like “nope” and put it back.

So, those are some of the books I’ve recently taken off of my TBR list. Not to worry though, for every book I take off, I add at least three more to the list. I need to go onto Goodreads and go through my list there to match with my spreadsheet. I tend to update that more than Goodreads when it comes to taking books off my lists.
Have you read any of the books I’ve listed here? Are there any books you’ve decided to not read recently?

Aw, I hadn’t heard of any of these until now!
