I hadn’t planned on doing this prompt, but then I realized how many bookish couples I like seeing together, so I decided to do this one after all. In honesty, I could probably list more than ten favorite couples, but I may save the others for another post.
The thing is with books is that couples tend to not usually get together until the end, which stinks, but the fun is in them falling for each other and realizing their feelings. IF they do get together mid-book (or get close to it), you know there’s going to be some kind of conflict to tear them apart and they’ll have to get over that bump for their happily ever after.
However, sometimes happily ever afters don’t happen. But the old saying goes, “it’s better to have love and lost than not loved at all.”
…or something like that.

Lola and Cricket
Lola and Cricket have such a pure relationship with each other. Granted, it takes them a bit to get together, but even when they’re just rekindling their friendship you see how perfect they are together.

Delilah and Oliver
Delilah and Oliver have a unique story, since Oliver is a storybook character, and that’s why they’re one of my favorites. I mean, how many times have we readers wished we could actually talk to our “book boyfriends/girlfriends” and really fall in love with them? This story is a bookworm’s dream come true!

Auburn and Owen
This story was wonderful and it had it’s complications, but I loved how Auburn and Owen were sort of connected from the past, and they just made a great pair.

Violet and Finch
Finch and Violet are one of my top favorites right from the start of the book. I loved how they brought out sides of each other that no one else saw. Of course, Finch did still hide his dark side of his bipolar disorder, and that’s what really makes this book so heartbreaking at the end. Still, Finch & Violet forever!

Dash and Lily
The classic grump and sunshine combo. I adored the back and forth between Dash and Lily through the notebook, and I thought that was such a cute idea in the first place! Not to mention both characters being book lovers! They’re a reader’s dream couple!

Alex and Brittany
I love a good enemies-to-lovers book, and the fact that Alex is part of a gang made their story more interesting. Especially because of the reason he was in the gang in the first place. That plus Brittany’s secret of having a “perfect life” made them an interesting couple.

Cath and Levi
I love Cath and Levi together mostly because of Levi. He brings Cath out of her shell and I love how she reads her fanfiction to him (along with some of his reading assignments) because he has a difficult time with reading. He’s also just so puppy-like that you can’t help but love him with Cath.

Harry and Ginny
I know they’re not a couple for most of the series, but their moments together are just so fun. And I love the whole “best friend’s younger sister” trope (since Ginny is only a year younger) and they’re honestly my favorite couple of this series.

Lina and Ren
I love this pair because even though they only know each other for a short time before catching feelings, there’s a bit of cluelessness with Lina as she likes another boy, and Ren is just so patient with her. Ren is so good to Lina as he helps her solve the mystery of her father in a new country, and shows her how to enjoy the secrets of their town in Italy.

Chloe and Nick
Another sunshine/grump pairing, and this one has a lot of Luke&Lorelai (from Gilmore Girls) feels between the two, especially since Nick is older and owns a coffee shop. They were fun to read because of their banter as well as the sweet moments between them.

So, these are my top favorite couples. Making this list actually makes me want to reread some of these books for the enjoyment of these pairings. I adore them all so much.
Who are some of your favorite book couples? Are any on my list on yours as well?

I really like Ruby and Clay Spencer from Julia Ash’s “The ELI Chronicles”. They’re in a healthy marriage and fully support each other, and I feel like we don’t have enough of that in our books. I’d like to see more protagonists in wholesome, healthy relationships.
