January 1, 2022December 31, 20213 Comments

We made it y'all! Happy New Year! Let me start off with saying that I destroyed my Goodreads Challenge of reading 70 books in 2021 and ended up reading 105 books. I still can't wrap my head around it because I've always been flabbergasted by readers who read that many books a year. I just … Continue reading Top 10 Books of 2021

My 2021 DNF List

December 30, 20212 Comments

I'm very glad that I started living by the mantra, "life's too short to read books you aren't enjoying" and no longer push through a book I'm just not interested in. It's saved me a lot of turmoil this year, and in the past couple of years, really. Thankfully, this year there were only three … Continue reading My 2021 DNF List

Books I’d Love to See as Films

August 8, 2020June 11, 20224 Comments

I have to say that I can't really complain about a lot of the movies I've seen that were based off … Continue reading Books I’d Love to See as Films

I didn't think I'd be doing a second volume of DNF'd books this year, but here I am!  Thankfully this list is a bit shorter, but it's also only covering not even two months of reading.  November was a "yuck" month for reading as nothing really caught my attention.  December has made up for it … Continue reading Books I Have DNF’d, Vol. II

Books I’m Looking Forward to in 2020

Who else feels like we're in a limbo between 2019 and 2020?  Oh, good.  It's not just me.  This has been the weirdest work week because of it being shortened as well as it being ridiculously slow at work.  Though I will say, I'm glad I don't work in retail anymore because dealing with returns … Continue reading Books I’m Looking Forward to in 2020

I hate saying that I didn't finish a book, but the thing is, life is just too short to waste time reading a book you're not enjoying.  For some people, this is real easy to do.  Then there are others - myself included - who feel as though they have to give the book a … Continue reading Books I Have DNF’d, Vol. I

Five fantastic stars AGAIN for this novel. I loved it years ago when it came out and feel the same after rereading.
QOTD: do you find yourself to be more of a morning, afternoon, or night reader?
Welp, this is a DNF. There’s just no depth to the story at all. I normally don’t read Patterson on principle, but I figured, “hey the person who ACTUALLY wrote it deserves a chance.” Unfortunately, this just didn’t hold my attention.
Seriously wishing I could just get paid to read books 😪
It’s the weekend. Read books. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Name a book that you knew was going to make you sad, but you read it anyway 🥲
